English Language Entry Requirements

Where English is not an applicant’s first language; or where the qualification is from the institution where the delivery of the program was not in English, applicants are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English by achieving the English entry-level in an internationally recognised English Language examination, as detailed for the relevant programs below.

Academic & other Entry Requirements

Entry into a postgraduate degree at College of Health Sciences requires you to have completed bachelor qualification that is comparable to an Australian bachelor degree. In some cases, courses will require additional requirements for entry to a CHS course. You may need to provide information such as:

Qualification Completion of Bachelor degree in a field relevant to public health or health management and two years full-time professional experience. Completion of Bachelor degree in a field relevant to public health or health management An undergraduate degree in a field relevant to healthcare and evidence of relevant professional experience or volunteer work in a health context OR; A graduate diploma or graduate certificate in a health-related field (See list below) and evidence of relevant professional experience or volunteer work in a health context
Work Experience Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, or the part-time equivalent, in healthcare Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience, or the part-time equivalent, in healthcare Minimum of three years’ full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional experience. In the absence of professional health registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or level 5 or 6 VET qualifications, evidence of more substantial (5 years minimum) recent work experience in a discipline is required.
Alternate entry Applicants may apply for alternate entry to a Master of Health Management provided they can satisfy CHS that they have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that does not meet the requirements stipulated above, but who have evidence of at least three years of full-time work or equivalent part time experience in one of the specified fields in health context. Evidence for work experience includes professional certification or registration, Statement of Service from their employer/s and a resume outlining a minimum of three years’ full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional experience in a health context. Applicants who have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that is not in a relevant discipline,
but who have at least three years of full-time work or equivalent part time experience in one of the specified fields relevant to the course may apply for alternate entry.
Those who have not completed an AQF 7 or higher award course or equivalent may apply for admission to a Graduate Diploma provided they can satisfy CHS by means of showing evidence of extensive professional experience or professional certification or registration by submitting a Statement of Service from their employer/s and a resume outlining a minimum of three years’ full-time (or equivalent) relevant professional experience in a health context.
