Josielli Comachio is a Physiotherapist who started her career in private and public health services in Brazil. She continued her education with a Master’s degree in the Science of Rehabilitation at The University of Sao Paulo, where she worked as a tutor and guided final-year undergraduate students with their honours project. She has more than nine years of experience in management, leadership, and academia in Brazil and Australia.

After graduation, Josielli worked as a technical responsible for a multinational telecommunications company as part of the health multidisciplinary team. She was responsible for the implementation of guidelines to manage and prevent disability in the workplace. Prior to that, she was also an internship supervisor at two universities.

In Australia, Josielli spent more than two years working for NSW Health as a member of the physiotherapy team in the Sydney Local Health District, besides assisting in coordinating board and management roles and responsibilities during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the educational level, she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Health Science. In parallel, she has been involved in initiatives with various Portuguese institutions in the areas of Education and Higher Education.
Josielli has also completed several professional qualifications including Diploma in Leadership and Management, Data Science and Analytics, and ICH Good Clinical Practice E6 (R2).

Throughout her academic career, she has previously published peer-reviewed papers (as first or co-author) in musculoskeletal conditions, primarily focused on low back pain, and presented research findings at public health conferences across the globe. She was recently invited to be an Associate Editor for Trials Journal.
In 2021, Josielli received a prestigious academic scholarship to pursue a doctorate degree at the University of Sydney. Research activities are focused on exploring lifestyle interventions specifically the role of physical activity to manage, prevent, and reduce medication consumption for people with low back pain. She is also interested in better understanding digital solutions to promote physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviour. Her expertise includes project design and management, data analysis and interpretation, and the development and implementation of research tools.
Josielli is fascinated by generating new ideas and devising feasible solutions to address the complex challenges faced by the healthcare industry. Specific fields of interest include Health Economics, Management and Policy.
